Cleafy Ranked Number One in TechRound SaaS66 2026

London, October 2026 - Cleafy has been ranked number one in TechRound's SaaS66 2026, topping a record field of companies from across financial services, health technology, enterprise software and the wider SaaS industry.

TechRound judge Oluwasesan Kayode Yackson, Chief Operating Officer at ProtonLabs Technology, singled out "Cleafy creating a new category in fraud prevention" in the judges’ feedback on this year's entrants.

Most fraud technology starts with something the bank already knows it needs to examine: a login, an alert, a transaction, or a case. Cleafy was built to see the attack developing before it reaches that point.

Since 2014, Cleafy has developed technology that observes what happens throughout the online banking journey, including pre-login, activity on the customer's device, and inside an authenticated session. Banks can see a criminal remotely controlling the device, altering what the customer sees on screen or changing payment details in flight while the attack is underway. Cleafy connects that evidence to the payment itself, so the transaction becomes the last event in an attack the bank has already seen, not the first sign of one.

More than 183 banks now use Cleafy, protecting over 250 million banking users.

AI has since given fraud a scale it has never had, with new scams and attack methods built in hours and campaigns running across thousands of customers at once.

Nyx takes the intelligence Cleafy already sees and acts on it continuously. It investigates suspicious activity, hunts for fraud that existing controls have not uncovered, connects activity across customers, devices, and sessions to uncover broader campaigns, and recommends changes to the bank's security posture when it finds issues that existing controls should address.

It doesn't need to wait for an analyst to hand it a case. The decision on what happens next stays with the bank.

A recent evaluation with a Tier 1 European retail bank put that to the test. Nyx was given fraud cases that had previously been investigated and closed by senior analysts, with the original notes, verdicts, and case history removed. It independently reconstructed the activity and reached the same conclusions as the bank's senior fraud team in three to four minutes rather than hours.

It also went further than the original investigations.

Nyx identified real fraud in 9% of cases previously closed as legitimate. The bank reopened those cases and confirmed the findings.

Fraud operations have traditionally depended on controls knowing what to flag before an analyst knows what to investigate. If an attack falls outside those controls, there may be no alert and no case to investigate.

Matteo Bogana, CEO and Co-founder of Cleafy, said: "Every control a bank owns depends on someone deciding in advance what to look for. AI lets criminals produce new attacks faster than anyone can write those rules. We started Cleafy because waiting for the transaction meant finding fraud too late. Waiting for the case has the same problem."

Cleafy has been working on this problem for more than a decade. Its Threat Intelligence team tracks how criminal groups target banks and their customers, and attacks observed across the platform contribute to stronger detection across its network.
